wedding row wednesday~ Boudior Shoots

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, we thought it the appropriate time to blog about boudoir shoots.
Historically known as a private suite near the bedchamber of an elegant woman, the "boudoir" salon has been present in art, from paintings to photography worldwide for ages.  Today's photographers have taken an old tradition of capturing a women in her private "boudoir" and updated it by allowing brides to celebrate their beauty and to be empowered by it. A boudoir session is a wonderful and intimate gift to give your betrothed as a wedding, anniversary or valentine's gift!
Beneath the Gown, wedding row member and our counterpart at The White Dress by the shore provided all of the stunning lingerie in these images. This is THE place to go to get yourself outfitted for your boudoir shoot.

The images below are by two Connecticut photographers who have truely mastered this craft!

a gallery of inspiration

Wedding Row and Venetucci Home present A Gallery of Inspiration-inspiration for your wedding, home and lifestyle

image shot by Robert Norman and styled by Wedding Row at Venetucci Home

The wedding mavens of Wedding Row in Clinton are joining forces with the interior design experts of Venetucci Home in Westbrook, to create an evening of inspiration for those interested in wedding, fashion or home décor.

On October 27th from 6-9pm, Venetucci Home will be hosting a cocktail party along with the members of Wedding Row. The event will showcase vignettes of furniture that will be staged as inspiration for your wedding, home or lifestyle.

We will be using different furniture and interior vignettes designed by Venetucci Home to set the inspiration for a wedding, your home or lifestyle. Each vignette will have a mood board designed by Sarah True of True Event and include such elements as a wedding gown, a bouquet of flowers, stationary pieces, and even a wedding cake—all that incorporate the feel of the vignette.

Our goal is to show that design inspiration can come from anywhere. Even with our wedding focus, guests will garner inspiration that they can apply to their homes and lifestyle. It will be a night for anyone interested in fashion and interior design.

To rsvp to the October 27th event, contact True Event at Becca@trueevent.com.

be a simple stunning bride!

There is still time to RSVP  to this wonderful event!  Don't miss your opportunity to meet Karen Bussen,  author of the simple stunning series and have her sign the most recent addition to the series~  simple stunning bride...celebrating your style all the way to the big day.

The cover and images from the book were shot here at The White Dress by the shore and owner Beth Chapman contributed to the chapter on selecting your wedding gown.  Here is a sneak peak at a few of the top tips:

1.  "Secure your wedding date and venue before you select a dress."
2.  "Set a budget that includes the extras, like foundation garments, alterations and accessories."
3.  "In selecting your wedding attire reflect your personal styles, not the trends."
4.  "Skip the entourage- bring only a couple of people who are close to you to limit opinions."

To read more of Beth's tips and Karen's other words of wisdom, join us on June 9th from 6-9 when you can purchase the book! During the event you can also enter to win a one on one planning session with Karen during a quaint lunch at the historic bee and thisle inn.

At the event we will also be kicking off our Modern Trousseau trunk show that runs June 10th -13th by appointment.  Designer Callie Tein will be on hand to launch her 2011 collection.

It will be a fun evening of fashion, delicious food and all things bridal!  Don't miss it!

wedding row wednesday~ the fassage

Jennie Fresa has introduced an amazing new service that is a MUST for any bride preparing for her wedding AND it makes a great gift! Having experienced the pure heaven for myself, I felt the need to share for wedding row wednesday!

Introducing the FASSAGE: Available exclusively at the Beauty Library.

.....A few years ago, every evening at 6:30, Jennie would find herself briskly walking up Lexington Avenue. Jennie found her stride here, working with makeup maven Trish McEvoy. Often, as Jennie pushed along passed the bakeries, boutiques, and shops that line the blocks from Saks Fifth Avenue to her 80th street studio apartment, she would detour into a quaint, neighborhood salon. A neck massage would melt away the stresses of the workday. A pedicure could empower her for a night on the town. Or, a luxurious facial transformed the working gal into the glamour girl. Often, Jennie fantasized about combining all of her favorite indulgences into one specialized treatment. And, so, the Fassage was born!

The FASSAGE: $90 Holiday Special: $72

A head to toe experience- 1 hour treatment includes a soothing foot soak with essential oils, paraffin hand treatment, deep cleansing facial with enzyme mask, and stress-relieving massage of the feet, legs, hands, arms and decoltee.

20% off all services at the Beauty Library, including the FASSAGE, Makeup Lessons, Brow Shaping and JF Mineral product purchases of $100 or more.

Offer good through December 27th, 2009

Gift Certificates are available.

Call 917.573.8100 to schedule your appointment!

We feel so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful friends in the industry that supported us in this huge celebration~ to toast with us as guests and as sponsors of the event. We thank all of the event sponsors below for making Sunday a huge success.

  • Betty Parri of Perfect Parties, and her amazing crew crafted an incredible display of stationary and passed savory Hors D'oeuvres and sweet treats throughout the afternoon. Also showcasing the talents of her in house pastry chef, with a gorgeous collection of cakes that were designed and presented in the spirit of the four seasons.

  • The uber talented, Yumiko of Hana Floral Design, totally went above and beyond to decorate each one of our spaces and the tent. The arrangements were crafted in the theme and design of each space and season. Absolutely gorgeous!

  • Geof Gordon of Photobooth Planet kept the crowd entertained as they got together to take photos in his old school, fabulous photobooth. A huge hit at every event and defiantly the talk of this one!

  • Chamard Vineyards treated guests to a tasting of their impressive portfolio of local wines. The winery is just a short trip up the road from Wedding Row.

  • Rentals Unlimited provided the fabulous linens and rentals throughout the properties and Sperry Tents set up two of their tents in between the houses, showcasing their gorgeous blue star tent.

  • Elan Artists and the talented ladies of Loukoum, an accordion and violin/cello duo, played as guests came in and out of the tent. They were not only absolutely adorable and super sweet but the sound that they created was brilliant. With a unique sound and combination of instruments they are the perfect accent of music for any special occasion and we were so lucky to have them be a part of our opening.

  • Lastly a huge thank you to Anna Sawin who captured all of the details so perfectly in a portfolio of pictures that will always mark November 1st as a day to remember.

a sexy surprise for someone...
or just for you to slink your way through your day...
custom-fitted...attention to detail and texture and fit...
the best lingerie from the most heart-felt designer, fabricator, and creative spirit that I've met so far...

And I'm so excited that my photographs of her gorgeous lingerie will featured in her shop! Some of the following images will be on display at Beneath the Gown.
