If you were unable to attend our destination bridal event on Sunday, March 20th, be prepared to be inspired!

In conjunction with some of the brightest talents in the bridal industry, we set out to create an event that was inspired by stunning destinations throughout the world. The goal of this event was to inspire those brides planning destination weddings abroad, and to use stunning locations to inspire those brides having weddings at home~ it was about inspiration for destinations and inspiration from destinations!

Emily's Catering Group treated us to delicacies from each of our destination locations~ Paris, Capri, New England and Costa Rica.

lobster rolls, clam chowder and 'cape codders', inspired by our New England destination

Delicious crepes inspired by our Parisian destination

Lovely Lollies filled Chic by the shore, our bridesmaid studio, with beautiful and scrumptious delicacies

The graceful Sperry Tent that was erected in our parking lot was filled with inspiration!

Being that it is the city of love, and of my favorite cities in the world, we chose Paris as one of our inspirational destinations.

This vintage inspired Amy Kuschel gown was the perfect look to complement the romantic inspiration board created by Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events that set the tone for this stunning Parisian table scape.

Inspired by the colors of my favorite location in Paris, the historic tea salon, Ladurée . this table cape was dreamy! With it's luxurious textured linens in shapes of soft pink, ivory and dusty green it had us all swooning!

The talented and lovely Nichole, founder and creative director of Coral Pheasant Stationary created the invitation suites that set the tone for each of our destinations, including this one for Paris.

Known for it's patisseries, no Parisian inspired setting would be complete without a stunning display of sweet treats. This one was created by Lovely Lollies.

The clear blue ocean and the infamous lemons of the Amalfi Coast were the inspiration for the Capri themed table scape and inspiration suite.

Tony of Daura- a modern garden created all of the floral masterpieces that graced the tables capes for the event. The flowers were the finishing touch for each destination and were inspirational in and of themselves!

Forget seersucker and khacki suits!- what about hot pink with a touch of yellow and sequins! We took a different spin on the classic New England wedding with this homage to Kate Spade.

We selected a fun and flirty Coren Moore maids dresses topped with a J Crew cardigan and a Lilly Pullitzer bridal gown as the attire to compliment this inspirational vignette.

As a nod to the beautiful country that inspired us all during several recent photo shoots, we selected Costa Rica as our final destination.

This layered chiffon gown from Amy Kuschel is the perfect bohemian selection for a Costa Rican beach wedding.

The shells, mangoes, kiwis and flowers by Datura- a modern garden, created the perfect uniquely organic centerpiece for the Costa Rican inspired table scape.

And the winner is........ one of our sponsors, Stay in Costa Rica provided a 5 night, 4 day mini-moon for one of the lucky brides attending the event. The White Carpet Experience

Recently one of our brides was treated to a White Carpet Appointment and the experience was artfully captured by Amy Trahant of Take Aim Photography.

Here are Chrissy's words about the experience:

"I have to tell you that we had one of the best days ever on Sunday at The White Dress by the Shore. You made us all feel welcomed and I truly felt like the most special person on earth. Modern Trousseau is one of the few designers in the industry that creates stunning designs for brides and moms- and this trunk show will feature both! Because we feel that every woman deserves her own special moment, we have separated our appointment times for brides and moms.

Bridal appointments are available March 31st – April 3rd during regular store hours. Mother of the bride appointments are available on Friday April 1st from 10-3:30 and Sunday April 3rd from 10-1. So far on our blog we have revealed to you the first 3 inspirational destinations for our event on March 20th, as well as the delicious menu of food inspired by these stunning locations. Now, we are revealing our final inspirational destination- Costa Rica!

I have had the pleasure of travelling to Costa Rica twice last year to collaborate on photo shoots with several of our event sponsors: Stay in Costa Rica, Carla Ten Eyck, Candice Coppolla of Juilee Events, Vintage Cinema and dd Nickel. I can honestly say that is one of my favorite places in the world!...Especially for a wedding! We are thrilled to announce that Stay in Costa Rica will be giving away a 5 day, 4 night 'mini-moon' in Costa Rica, complete with a couples massage and facial, a tree top zip line tour through the jungle and a sunset cocktail cruise, to a lucky bride who attends the event or purchases a gown during our Destination Trunk Show that runs March 22nd -26th.

the little black dress collection

Last bridal market we scoured the designers runways to put together a fabulous collection of little black dresses. All of these styles come in other colors as well (some even in shades of white), but we couldn’t resist sampling them in classic black. The tricky part is that because everything that we do is special order, the lead time on these dresses is at least 3 months. So, as soon as you receive that save the date for the next wedding that you are invited to, ring us to see the collection! Or, order one now just to have in your closet! Everyone should have a stunning little black dress in their wardrobe!

I attended an event last night in New York at the Ace Hotel. It was sponsored by one of our favorite wedding blogs, 100 Layer Cake and it featured the amazing musical talents of Elan Artists (check them out, they have some of the best musical groups in the industry)!

At the event, I met two beautiful and talented women with very cool wedding related businesses and I wanted to introduce them to you!

We had our first bride indulge in a white carpet appointment yesterday! The lucky bride and her family spent 3 hours being pampered in the boutique and enjoyed delicious savory and sweet treats from The Elegant Occassion while viewing our collection. The entire experience was captured on film by Take Aim Photography. (stay tuned to blog to see a post with the images). At the end of her exclusive appointment, the bride walked away with this stunning bouquet inspired by her wedding from Fleur de lys , as a gift from us.

Destination Inspiration: Paris

We’re so excited about our Destination Inspirations Event scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 20th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. We have already revealed two of our destinations that will be featured at our event: Capri and New England.

Our third destination takes us back over to Europe to one of my all time favorite cities which is a constant source of inspiration for me... Paris. What’s not to adore about the city of lights and the city of love? Cobblestone streets, croissants, Bordeaux, Champs de Elysee, croque madame, The Metro, Marie Antoinette, corner street cafes, Chanel, Dior, Louboutin, Vuitton, Givenchy, YSL… need I say more? With this Parisian inspired board Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events took a cue from the French ballet and a place that we both heart with every fiber of our macaron loving being: Ladurée. The board is so beautiful that I get goose bumps every time I look at it!!! We love the idea of being inspired by tulle and tutus, high buns, dramatic makeup, and those beautiful bites of perfection from Ladurée. Candice took the signature Ladurée green as a starting point and worked in the colors of champagne, gold, and brown to accentuate.

Black Swan

With the Oscar's upon us today, we are waiting with baited breath to see the stunning gowns that will grace the red carpet! We have our fingers crossed that Black Swan will take picture of the year. As the thriller continues to sweep the award shows, we will begin to see its influence on the world of fashion- particularly bridal fashion.

The costumes in the movie were spectacular. Costume designer Rodarte did an exceptional job incorporating fashion elements into the ballet costumes. There is a new publication in town, and we are in LOVE!!!! Bliss Celebrations just launched its premier issue, and we are honored to say that our Marie Antionette inspired photo shoot is gracing the cover and is featured as an editorial spread.

This shoot was created as part of photography workshop for Carla Teneyck. Check out the behind the scenes 'making of the shoot' video by Vantage Point Films . We were honored to collaborate with some of the brightest talents in the industry on this shoot! The shoot was styled by Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events and the beauty was done by Dana Bartone and her amazing team! The floral design that is artfully captured on the cover is by the lovely and talented Elizabeth Zemetis of Blush Floral Design.

We were also thrilled that one of our real bride's weddings was featured inside the magazine! Abby Shaughnessy's flirty Ocean House wedding shot by Leila Brewster and designed by True Event, was a perfect additon to this lovely publication!

I love to travel! Whenever I travel I am inspired- by the architecture, landscape, artwork and of course local fashion trends! We decided to create a Destinations Wedding event that will inspire our brides with some amazing destination locations.

As part our Ask The Experts series, we have interviewed our head seamtress, Penny Barone. We hope that this post will enlighten our brides as to the amount of work and talent that goes into altering their gown. Bridal Alterations is a truely a lost art form!

How did you get started working with wedding gowns?

I started sewing Barbie doll clothes at age 9. My first job working on wedding gowns was at a bridal store in Hartford 35 years ago, which is where I got hooked on bridal. The following year a wedding gown factory opened in Enfield, Connecticut and I became their first seamstress. I later worked directly with the designer as his sample maker. The factory closed after only 2 years and I unhappily joined the insurance industry.

During the insurance years I would make or alter the wedding dresses of friends and family, and performed part-time alterations at various bridal shops in Connecticut. I eventually left the insurance industry and devoted all of my time to dressmaking and alterations. I estimate that I have worked on somewhere between 4500 and 5000 bride, mother, bridesmaid or flower girl dresses in the past 35 years. I love what I do and am blessed to be doing it here at The White Dress by the shore.

What goes into altering a wedding gown?

Our gowns are from the top couture designers in the industry. As a result, they are extremely well constructed. Each gown has multiple layers and when altering them, each layer has to be taken in exactly the same amount to ensure a proper fit. We appreciate the delicate silks and laces and the special handling required to alter each gown. We always take the time to do the job properly. There are No shortcuts- EVER. Shortcuts create lumps and bumps that no bride wants.

At The White Dress by the shore, we spend an extraordinary amount of time with the bride and her gown. Generally, we have 4 fittings for each gown. We concentrate on making the bodice fit at the first fitting because the bodice affects the skirt length. The hem and bustle are the focus at the second fitting. At the third fitting we check the overall fit of the gown and ensure that the hem is perfect. At the final fitting the brides puts the dress on one more time to check for perfection, the wrinkles are removed and the dress is packaged and placed in her car. We devote one hour to each fitting and two hours for the final pickup, just in case any minor tweaks need to make while the bride waits.

Although the bride may see the seamstress for 3 to 4 hours in fittings, the dress also spends many hours in the sewing room getting carefully taken apart and stitched for the next fitting. Our goal is to ensure that the dress feels as great as it looks.

Hemming even a simple design can take several hours due to the number of layers in the gown. Each layer of the skirt needs to be measured, stitched, checked, trimmed and pressed separately.

Lace hems take much longer because the lace usually needs to be removed and re-attached after hemming the shell and petticoats of the gown.

What is the most difficult aspect of altering a wedding gown?

The wedding dress has evolved over the last 60 years from a single layer of satin worn over a bra and separate petticoat into elaborately constructed multi-layered works of art. Gowns today often are designed with the petticoat built-in, and often with a bra or fully boned corset built-in.

Each layer needs to be altered in the same exact manner or the overall result will be less than perfect.

A common question is how do you alter a gown with a lace hem?

It depends on the type of lace and the style of the dress. Sometimes we need to remove the lace, shorten the fabric portion and then reapply the lace along the new hemline. Sometimes we need to carefully cut along a design in the lace pattern, reposition the lace, sew it, and then cut away the excess. If there is a horizontal waistline seam, we sometimes shorten from the top of the skirt. The waist seam is taken apart and then we cut away the unnecessary inches from the top of the skirt panels and then put the bodice and the skirt back together. Either way is very time-consuming and can be tricky, but it's our specialty is making any changes to the dress imperceptible.

How do you feel about customizing gowns from their original design?

We love to customize dresses at the White Dress by the shore. It is what makes the dress truly unique for each bride. We can do just about anything imaginable. If the bride wants a slimmer skirt, a dip in the neckline, a "V" in the back, shoulder straps, a sleeve added or taken away, or a little bling added here and there, we can do it all!

One thing we love to do is place a personal memento into the dress. It can be a piece of fabric from their mother’s or grandmother’s wedding dress, a strand of yarn from her grandfather’s favorite afghan, or a piece of tattered handkerchief sewn to the lining near the hem. We once added a tiny pocket inside the gown for a special coin or medal. A Dad once hand embroidered the couple's names and wedding date onto a piece of silk and I stitched it into the lining. That was truly sweet.

What are the biggest misconceptions about your job?

1. That we have a magic wand in the back room.

2. That if the right size was ordered they wouldn't have needed alterations.

3. That we can do a hem without the proper shoe.

What words of wisdom can you provide brides going through the alterations process?

If you plan on losing weight and have a specific regimen that you are using, tell your seamstress at the first fitting. It is important to formalize a plan for the weight loss so that the gown does not have to be taken in at every fitting.

Proper undergarments are KEY! It is important to come to the first fitting with the foundations that you plan to wear under your gown. The appropriate foundation makes all of the difference in the fit of your gown. We love that we share our space with Beneath the Gown so that Josie can outfit all of our brides in the perfect undergarments for their gown.

It is critical that you have the finalized shoe by the second fitting. We need the EXACT shoe at the fitting in order to ensure that the hem is perfect.

What do you love about the process?

I just love working with brides. They are women who are happy and in love, at one of the best times in their lives. The most gratifying part is that one moment during a fitting when the bride sees herself in the mirror and realizes that, yes, it really is HER wedding gown and she feels fabulous in it. All those months of wondering how it would turn out are over and bridal worry and silly nightmares were unnecessary. They get that glow, do a little twirl or let out a little squeal or a couple of laughing tears and say they don't want to take the dress off. It gets my heart every time.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, we thought it the appropriate time to blog about boudoir shoots.

Historically known as a private suite near the bedchamber of an elegant woman, the "boudoir" salon has been present in art, from paintings to photography worldwide for ages. Today's photographers have taken an old tradition of capturing a women in her private "boudoir" and updated it by allowing brides to celebrate their beauty and to be empowered by it. A boudoir session is a wonderful and intimate gift to give your betrothed as a wedding, anniversary or valentine's gift!

Beneath the Gown, wedding row member and our counterpart at The White Dress by the shore provided all of the stunning lingerie in these images. This is THE place to go to get yourself outfitted for your boudoir shoot.

So pretty on Style Me Pretty~Our Ocean House Shoot!

In May of 2010, we were honored to work with a dream team of vendors at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island for a workshop put on by Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events and Carla Teneyck, called Collaborate and Create. The three day seminar focused on working with a community of talents to pull together a styled shoot. Along with an amazing group of attendees, we also had the creativity of our usual team to help pull together FIVE gorgeous shoots in 3 days! Below, is just one of those incredible shoots!

In the words of Candice Coppola, the co-creator of Collaborate and Create and founder of Juliee Events, "We designed this shoot to be rich in color and slightly quirky. There are a lot of textures and patterns and they all work really well together. Sometimes people get scared of mixing patterns and textures and instead, stick to a very generic formula of matching colors and fabrics. In some instances, that look can be wonderful– but with most designs, I really encourage you to embrace texture, color, and patterns. It will make your look three dimensional and more interesting!"
"We set up a beautiful table scape, which has become one of my all time favorites, with mix-matched china (some vintage, some rental), vintage silverware, hanging mirrors, vintage and rental linens, and an AMAZING centerpiece chandelier that hung above the table (with a little help from our team!)."

The fashion inspiration for the shoot was really quirky, preppy. We love the pop of Tiffany Blue incorporated in the accessories and the quirky tuxedo detail on the Amy Kuschel gown. It was an interesting contrast to the very casual seersucker vest and pants and fun patterned tie!
This shoot was debuted on Style Me Pretty last week in a lovely feature. Be sure to check it out for even more fabulous images.

the royal wedding gown

It is officially 101 days until the royal wedding and the big question, is what will Kate Middleton wear? I was recently asked by the editor of The Feast Connecticut to comment on what the future princess Katherine should select for her wedding attire. Here are my thoughts:

"The entire bridal industry is on pins and needles to see what Kate selects to wear ! It is so exciting to anticipate the trends that will be ignited by her selection. Kate’s style is simple and understated and her wedding gown needs to reflect that. I think that her gown should be long sleeved with a touch of lace incorporated into it. She has a stunning figure, so a fit to flare silhouette with a long train would be striking on her. A long veil with a blusher would be the perfect accompaniment to her gown, along with the requisite tiara. Ideally Kate will select a simple, yet elegant tiara that she will wear more as a headband than a tiara."

I found it difficult to take gowns from the runway as an example of what she will wear. I haven’t seen anything out there that is worthy of her! She needs a custom gown fit for a princess! I took the inspiration for this assignment from Womens Wear Daily. They recently asked top fashion designers to sketch the gowns that they thought that Kate should wear and I was inspired by the following:

Our shoot featured on the cover of Gala Weddings Magazine!

Of course, my passion is fashion! When I entered into the bridal industry from the retail fashion world nearly 10 years ago, a whole new amazing aspect of fashion came alive to me. I have been working with an incredible team for a little over a year styling shoots in some of the most amazing locations in the world. One such shoot took place last year, right here in Connecticut at the historic and elegant Mayflower Inn in Washington, Connecticut. The Mayflower is such an incredible hidden gem and a STUNNING location for a wedding!- Not to mention a perfect venue for a quaint honeymoon getaway or a fabulous bachelorette weekend at their world renowned spa!

Since our team began collaborating together, we dreamed of the day that we see our work come alive in print. And today is the day! We are thrilled that Gala weddings has created an 11 page spread of our romantic winter wonderland shoot at the Mayflower!

In the always poetic words on Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events, following was the inspiration for this shoot. "We were inspired by winter, the color blue, toile, and interesting textures like birch, evergreen, yarn, and vintage paper. Tony created several amazing bouquets– one of which has been a steady contender for my all time favorite bouquet. Ever. And it’s featured! Beth created a preppy look that my heart continues to lust after– gorgeous dress, cardigan, sparkly belt, layered pearls. Yum! Posh Paperie sent me a box of THE MOST gorgeous creations– paper pinwheels made of vintage music sheets, die cut “lace” paper embellishments, menu’s that open with a surprise hidden inside, and the prettiest invitation you ever did see (also featured!). Lovely Lollies delivered delicious dessert table that we styled– filled with peppermint patties, homemade marshmallows, candy can sticks, french macrons, and SO much more."

We were thrilled to have the shoot recently featured on Southern Weddings Website.

We finished the shoot in the nick of time before the sky opened up and we got a good old fashion southern thunderstorm! Carla captured our lovely table scape being drenched in the photo above and Tom Morlock of Vantage Point Films, captured the deluge on film!

French Inspired Photoshoot in New Orleans- Part I

What an exciting year! I was so blessed to travel to some incredible destinations for photo shoots- Paris, Costa Rica (twice!), Watch Hill Rhode Island and some amazing locations in our own beautiful state of Connecticut.

The year started with an extraordinary trip to New Orleans with some of the most talented vendors in the bridal industry. Our team included our talented photography crew: Carla Ten Eyck, Katie Slater, Sara-Code Kroll, and Carla’s studio manager Dodie of Carla Ten Eyck Photography. Shoot and table scape design were by Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events. Candice was accompanied by her right- hand woman who kept us all in check, Diana Chouinard. Tony from Datura: A Modern Garden designed all the gorgeous floral and collaborated with Candice on our epic table scape! Jennie Fresa and Nedelyn Perry of Jennie Fresa Beauty Library composed our beauty team and created gorgeous looks for our models. To top it off– Tom from Vantage Point Films was there to document the entire trip.

When a concept for a shoot is created, the first step is to set the inspiration that all of the vendors involved worked off of. Below is the inspiration board created by Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events.

The team used the inspiration board as a jumping off point and below is a sampling of the final product! We started the day shooting at a historic, boutique hotel in the heart of the French Quarter called The Cornstalk Hotel. This shoot was inspired by fashion, and included a custom Modern Trousseau created just for our shoot. The bride wore a vintage rose applique by Karen Lindner Designs in her hair and jewels by Haute Bride. The classic black tuxedo was provided by Perlis, and the groom wore a sweet little peony boutionerre.

The bridesmaid gowns in shades of grey, were by Jenny Yoo and Vineyard Collection and were accented by pink fabric flower sashes by Twigs & Honey and jewels by Haute Bride. The hot pink shoes are designed by Poetic License. The pink tulip and pink peony bouquet with tulle hem were created by Datura: A Modern Garden. The pink paper “just married” banner was designed and hand made by posh paperie. Bella Umbrella provided the gorgeous white and pink ruffled vintage umbrellas that were the perfect accessory for this southern shoot!

After shooting at the hotel, we took to the streets- literally! Our 'bride and groom' rode through the French Quarter in a horse and buggy, while our design team created a wedding reception in the middle of Royal Street. Candice and Tony created the most amazing table scape covered in confections that looked like a confection itself! It was draped in luxurious fabrics and covered with fabric and paper flowers. The table was adorned with the most delectable french pastries from a New Orleans based bakery, Sucre. It was topped off with fabulous floral accents that Tony created from blooms in different rich shades of pink. The 'party' included a quintessential New Orleans brass brand! You can imagine having a table scape, bride and groom and brass band in the middle of the street created quite a stir! Our shoot as surrounded by hundreds of tourists trying to figure out what all of the fuss was about. The locals were unfazed- to them parties in the street are old hat!

For our Royal Street shoot, the bride wore a taffeta halter with a dramatic ruffled collar from Reverie and a custom floral and feathered headpiece by Twigs and Honey.

Our model Adrienne, rocked an incredible hat and earrings created by Tony out of hot pink rose petals and ranuculous! His talents never cease to amaze me! Jennie Fresa, who artfully created the beauty for this shoot, found the perfect lip color to compliment the floral accessories.

We are getting a new look! From January 4th - January 18th, our 1st floor will be undergoing a renovation. During that time, we will be accepting appointments on the 2nd floor of our boutique. To ensure availability, it is imperative that you schedule your appointments a minimum of 1 week in advance, as we are limited in number of appointments that we can take.

When arriving for your appointment, please enter at the top of the stairs on the second level of the building. If anyone in you party is unable to climb stairs, please notify us when scheduling your appointments. We ask that you limit your party to 3 guests for appointments during our renovation, as our temporary space is very 'cozy'.

We are thrilled to be hosting a trunk show with Connecticut based designer Modern Trousseau this weekend (December 9th -11th). Modern Trousseau is a company that specializes in couture bridal and mother of the occasion dresses. The collection was first launched at The White Dress by the shore 5 years ago and it is now sold all over the world!

Further to our 'ask the expert series', I interviewed Modern Trousseau founder and designer, Callie Tein about her collection, trends in bridal and her inspiration. Here are her responses:

How did you get started in designing bridal?

I've loved fashion ever since I was a little girl growing up in Melbourne, Australia. I used to dress up in my Mum's evening clothes from the sixties and seventies. I sometimes remember important or special events in my life through the clothes that I was wearing at the time, and I remember my first pair of high heels, my first ballgown (my prom dress) and of course my wedding gown.

I studied Fashion Design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. I loved every minute of it. When I graduated, I worked as a designer for many different Australian companies, designing woman's wear, children's wear, and eventually wedding gowns.

Once you have designed weddings gowns, there is no going back. It is the ultimate in creativity and design. The luxury of working with fine French laces, imported silks and delicate bead work makes me feel very lucky. I want every dress to be perfect, and every every bride that I dress to feel special on her wedding day.

What was the inspiration behind your current bridal collection?

50's couture~ classic with a twist. I was inspired by the fabrics that we found, particularly the beautiful laces. I wanted to add texture to the collection, so we did gowns like Wallis and Martini. In In this collection I wanted to add new dimension to take it to the next level.

What are the current trends in bridal?

The trend at the moment is being able to customize your gown and make it your own. Accessorizing the gown as way of customizing it is a strong trend with brides- whether it is with a special belt or jewels. The Vintage look is also still en vogue. In particular, we are still very inspired by lace. Color as a trend is also going to be strong. Bold black and white is a big trend.

"Ebony"

People always ask if strapless will stay in fashion. What is your opinion?

YES!!!!! Strapless is a beautiful look on a young girl- it always looks fresh. Strapless represents freedom. When you compare what people wore years ago to now, women were covered up for their weddings. Historically, weddings were often planned by their mothers and women wore long sleeves and high necks. Today, strapless represents freedom for young brides- and it is not going away.

"Kendra"

You are one of the few bridal designers who designs bridal and mothers dresses. What differentiates your mother of the occasion collection?

We have a very specific look for our mothers. We want the collection to be young, fresh and elegant. We are designing for a more mature woman, so I am always thinking about a mature figure and the designs cater to her. But, I still strive to keep the looks fresh, young and flattering! We have banished frumpy!

Gallery of Inspiration Event at Venetucci Home

On October 27th we hosted a cocktail party along with the members of Wedding Row at Venetucci Home in Westbrook. The event showcased vignettes of furniture that were staged as inspiration for wedding, home and lifestyle.

We used different furniture and interior vignettes designed by Venetucci Home to set the inspiration for a wedding, your home or lifestyle. Each vignette had a mood board designed by Sarah True of True Event and included such elements as a wedding gown, a bouquet of flowers, stationary pieces, and even a wedding cake—all that incorporated the feel of the vignette.

Our goal was to show that design inspiration can come from anywhere. Even with our wedding focus, guests garnered inspiration that they could apply to their homes and lifestyle. It was a night for anyone interested in fashion and interior design. It was so much fun!

Last week we blogged about the amazing gowns and trends that we saw at October bridal market. Bridal market is 4 days of running between hotel suites, runway shows and showrooms with very little sleep and even less food! But, amongst the schlepping we do get to have a little fun! Below is a recap of some of the fun that we had and the faces behind the incredible designs that we saw!

October market is especially fun because there are always fabulous parties to attend! A few of our industry friends join us on Monday evening as we party hopped between the Martha Stewart and The Knot parties.

The Martha Stewart party was held at an incredible space in their offices.

A view of the incredible tinsel chandelier over the bar! The party was incredible- from the music, to the food, to the fun stations- like the Essie bar for nails, the fake eyelash station and the 'pipe cleaner lady', it was hard to tear ourselves away!

After MUCH fun at Martha, we headed over to The Knot party at the New York Public Library by limousine!! (provided by The Knot)

As we arrived at the library, I ran into my friend and an incredibly talented event planner and author, Karen Bussen and her assistant Nicole

The interior of the library was majestic. The Knot did an incredible job with the lighting and the decor. The focal point and conversation piece of the evening was an enormous bride with a skirt of flowers, escorted by a pair of FABULOUS floral poodles -designed by the one and only, Preston Bailey. The bride's gown was inspired by Monique Llhulier.

It was certainly a memorable market!
